The Institute for Internet & the Just Society is a think and do tank connecting civic engagement with interdisciplinary research focused on fair artificial intelligence, inclusive digital governance and human rights law in digital spheres. We collaborate and deliberate to find progressive solutions to the most pressing challenges of our digital society. We cultivate synergies by bringing the most interesting people together from all over the world and across cultural backgrounds. We empower young people to use their creativity, intelligence and voice for promoting our cause and inspiring others in their communities. We work pluralistically and independently. Pro bono.

The organization pursues exclusively and directly charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 51 (2) para.1 no. 1, 7, 13, 24, 25 of the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung) as recognized by the Berlin Tax Office. The organization carries out the activities undertaken in cooperation with third parties strictly independently and without the authority or supervision of third parties. The organization is independent and not affiliated with any political party.


The organization's purpose is the promotion of international spirit, diversity and tolerance in all areas of culture and the spirit of international understanding, in particular the promotion of human rights protection, non-discrimination, equal treatment and equality, as well as the strengthening of international partnerships within the meaning of the 16th and 17th objectives for sustainable development in accordance with resolution A/RES/70/1 of the United Nations General Assembly; the general promotion of democratic governance within the scope of the German Basic Law (Grundgesetz), in Europe and at international level, in particular the promotion of multilateral and democratic Internet governance based on the multi-stakeholder approach, in accordance with the principles of the World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva 2003 and Tunis 2005; the promotion of civic engagement for democracy; the promotion of science, research and education.

The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR): https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
