Faissal Sharif obtained a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University in the Netherlands with a semester abroad at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. As a visiting scholar at the University of California, Irvine, he investigated biomarkers for Alzheimer’s Disease. Recently, he has completed his MSc in Translational Neuroscience at Imperial College London and works at the Centre for Psychedelic Research.
Beyond his research interest in psychiatric disorders and mental health, Faissal has developed an interest in the connection between medicine and technology through working with Medtech and Digital Therapeutic startups and organizations such as the European Space Agency. Currently, he is working as a Tech Consultant, freelance Science Journalist and University Lecturer. Faissal has received numerous fellowships, from the Foundation of German Economy (SDW), the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and others. He is fluent in German, English and Persian and is currently studying Mandarin.
